Radial Balance Symmetrical Balance Asymmetrical Balance Contrast in Color Contrast in Value Contrast in Scale Contrast in Shape Contrast in Texture In this project, we shot pictures in downtown Portland, Oregon that represents all types of contrast and balance. We tried to shoot as many photos as we could to have more materials to work with. With this project, I tried to go out of my comfort zone to shoot pictures that would be ones that I didn't think of before; I tried to be open-minded.

These are the best grids that I created for the final works for project 3. I really like flowers and warm toned colors, so I decided to make cool designs by rotating and flipping the edited photos. The first color grid is of pictures of raspberries that I took and edited. I rearranged them by rotation. The second color grid showing some contrast is organized by using the flipping tools. Last but not least, the third one is of flowers that I took and edited. When I placed them onto the grid I rotated them to make a cool circular pattern.

This is an edited version of the original photos took of raspberries. This photo is used to represent monochromatic colors. It has different shades of red. This is the original version of the photo I took in downtown Portland of the different colors of leaves in the fall. This photo gives a mood of the fall weather and the coziness and coldness of fall. This is an edited version of the original photo showing complementary colors. The red complements the green and the purple complements the yellow. However the red goes very well with the yellow. All of the colors in the flower complement each other. This is the edited version of the original photo. These are bushes of lavender that were being sold at the farmer's market. The photo represents cool colors. I edited the photo to make it seem both cool, but showing hints of warmth. Last but not least, the flowers of this represent warm colors, but also monochromatic colors. These ar...

Rule of Thirds: This is the Original photo I took in downtown Portland. I took this photo while standing, and trying to focus on the two people on the bench as the main points of the photo. The framing and composition I used was the rule of thirds. Close Up: This is an edited version of the close up photo I took. I added a black and white filter and increased the contrast and reduced the highlights of this photo. I also increased the shadows and whiteness. I chose this as one of my best photos because it was a really good close up of the fountain and the sun hit the water and camera at the perfect angle. Frame Within A Frame: This is the original photo I took of a copying center. This is the name and logo of the copying center. I took it through the window. It is a perfect representation of frame within a frame because you are looking through a window. Bird's Eye View: This is the original photo I took of the highway. This is the most accurate representatio...

Photographers use contact sheets to show the evolution of their photos. The idea of the sheet helps people identify what the original photo looked like, so they can see the change that the photographer went through in editing and making a new version of the original. The edits used in the contact sheet was all made in Adobe Lightroom.
Elements and Principles of Design

This poster was a project I did to understand the differences between elements of art and principles of design. I took pictures around my school that I believed to represent each of the 12 sections. Elements of art are the basic components to art-making, while principles of design describe ways to organize a piece of artwork in order to make it significant and unique. Normally when I take photographs or just in general make art, I don’t really focus on a lot of the principles of design. After making this poster and really understanding the definitions of each piece that makes up a good piece of art, it really helps me see art from another perspective.

My Summer in Paradise. This year I had an amazing summer! I was able to go to three different islands in Hawaii, which included Maui, Oahu, and Kauai. The picture above was taken by my dad when we were at Honomanu Bay in Maui. The water was very warm and clear; it was great for snorkeling. I had so much fun taking pictures and snorkeling in Hawaii, the two things that I love to do.
